Research Affiliates

The Center for Research in Feminist, Queer, and Transgender Studies Research Affiliation is designed for U.S.-based scholars from all disciplines working on research projects related to gender, sexuality and/or women. The affiliate must have an existing institutional connection to Penn (e.g., an alumna; a visiting scholar in a department, program or another center). Recent PhDs and independent scholars are welcome to apply. Research affiliates are encouraged to participate in Center events and activities. This unpaid affiliation may be listed on professional publications and curriculum vitae, but is not for the purpose of applying for grants or contracts.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or its equivalent at the start of the affiliation. The length of affiliation may range from 3 months to one academic year, with the option to reapply for up to two additional years.

Application packet must include: 1) a letter of interest, including description of research to be undertaken during affiliation and existing institutional connection to Penn; 2) a curriculum vitae; and 3) one letter of recommendation. The preferred length and specific dates of residency are also required. Applicants should submit their application packet through the online portal.
