ARANCHA GARCIA DEL SOTO has engaged in human rights work in Latin America, Africa and Sri Lanka. A Doctor Member of the Center for the Advanced Studies of the Social Sciences, CEACS, at the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, she teaches graduate courses on Human Rights and Migration. Her research and applied work focuses on psychosocial work and community well-being, and on Gender and Sexual based Violence. She is currently affiliated with the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs (IIHA) at Fordham University. She previously served as Director of Refugee Initiatives, at the Penn’s Solomon Asch Center for the Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict. She is involved with supporting the implementation of the Decree 2569 in Columbia and collaborates with EQUITAS- Colombia, an organization of forensic anthropologists working with families of the disappeared. Her most recent work is in Greece working with refugee networks.
