Please join Randall Williams, editor, independent scholar and former union organizer/AIDS activist; and Ricardo A. Bracho, Abrams Artist in Residence in GSWS/FQT for a table reading of Bertolt Brecht's Saint Joan of the Stockyards. Brecht's retelling of the Joan of Arc story sets it in the corrupt and exploitative meat industry of 1929 Chicago. Williams/Bracho plan to collaborate on an adaptation, combining the Chicago Teacher's Strike of 2012 and lifework and labor strategy of the late, great champion of workers.
Space is extremely limited (and everyone at the table will be part of the reading). To reserve a seat, please email rbracho@sas.upenn.edu.
