The Program in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies
APC/GSWS Artist-in-Residence Ricardo A. Bracho has been awarded a Sachs Program for Arts Innovation grant to present The Sis Uprising: A Critical Kiki with Arien Wilkerson. The online event, taking place October 8th, 2020, will feature Wilkerson and their collaborators presenting new and previous work to Bracho’s creative writing workshop, Passion Projects, and to the greater Penn community. The work will include excerpts from previous performances as well as premiere the video, The Sis Uprising, a conceptual Black spectacle on Covid and the protests; the interwoven legacies of race, gender and sexuality and Black queer artistic insurgency.
