The Queer Internet Studies Workshop brought together thinkers, makers and doers who draw upon social scientific methods to do work at the intersection of queer life and the internet. With this workshop, we brought together researchers who investigate the construction of queer communities, the development of queer knowledge production and cultures, and assess how queer identity is understood and archived. The goals of this workshop were: to identify problems and opportunities within research on sexuality and digital media, broadly defined; to get a sense of current research taking shape across different disciplines and fields; and to develop artistic, academic and activist projects that can coalesce around, play with and rework a queer internet.
