The Awardees for 2013 are:
- André Dombrowskie, Assistant Professor, History of Art: "Pissarro, Impressionism, Feminism"
- Tsitsi Jaji, Assistant Professor, English: "Classic Black: Art Songs of the Black Atlantic"
A third, named award was granted to:
- Ayako Kano, Associate Professor, East Asian Languages and Civilizations: "Japanese Feminist Debates: The First Hundred Years"
This award honors the memory of Professor Phoebe S. Leboy, a Penn scientist who was a tireless pioneer and activist for women faculty at Penn and more broadly around the country.
About the TCPW Summer Research Stipend: The Trustees' Council of Penn Women offers three $5,000 summer research stipends to female faculty, or faculty members whose research is centrally concerned with the role of women in society, science, or arts and letters. The Trustees’ Council of Penn Women assists Associate Professors working for promotion to Full Professor, as well as Assistant Professors seeking promotion to the permanent rank of Associate Professor.
