The Department of History at Rutgers – Camden invites you to our third Lees Seminar for the Spring 2025 semester with Assistant Professor Javier Samper Vendrell (UPenn) and Associate Professor Joseph Fischel (Yale) on Friday, March 28.
Dr. Javier Samper Vendrell, Assistant Professor of German at the University of Pennsylvania, will present a chapter from his book-in-progress entitled: The Gay Nazi and the Innocent Child, or Coming to Terms with the Past in Germany, Year Zero.
Dr. Joseph Fischel, Associate Professor of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Yale University, will offer a comment.
The Lees Seminar was endowed by Andrew Lees, Distinguished Professor of History, to promote research in and beyond the History Department at Rutgers-Camden. Scholars present cutting-edge research in progress as a pre-circulated paper. Seminars open with a brief comment followed by discussion and a reception. Note: this event is also generously sponsored by the Gender Studies Program.
Advance reading of the pre-circulated chapter is expected of all attendees. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to Dr. Evan Jewell at evan.jewell@rutgers.edu by 3pm on Wednesday, March 26, or sign up here, to receive a copy of the chapter.
