Please join us on Monday, April 20th at 11:30am at the LGBT Center for a conversation about trigger warnings and establishing an ethos of care:
What is an ethos of care? In light of Ferguson and #BlackLivesMatter as well as nationwide attention on campus rape culture, how do we name, confront, and address the everyday manifestations of social injustice in the classroom? How do we create and manage a classroom where care is not at odds with actively engaging with systemic violence within and beyond the campus walls?
Join us in this seminar, led by undergraduate GSWS major Roderick Cook, Annenberg Ph.D. candidate Sara Mourad, and LGBT Center Senior Associate Director and GSE Lecturer Erin Cross, where we will discuss challenges and strategies for tackling these issues.
