Graduate Pedagogy Seminar featuring Shannon Lundeen, "Expanding the Scope of Gender & Sexuality Studies Assignments:

Friday, November 16, 2012 - 8:30am

Room 436 Cohen Hall

Please join us for a graduate student pedagogy seminar featuring Dr. Shannon Lundeen (Associate Director of GSWS and APC) who will discuss different forms of assessment besides the traditional essay or research paper that function to a) engage the students more fully in the class and b) provide the instructor with a different format by which to measure students' learning. Using social media to cultivate the public intellectual in each student can be an extremely useful tool in courses that raise questions of inequity and social justice. Dr. Lundeen will discuss individual and group work, video projects, student blogging, tweeting, and more.
